Roles and Responsibilities
Help define and oversee programs, services and grantmaking of the Arctic Slope Community Foundation. Ensure that the programs, services and grantmaking are provide are in accordance with our mission.
Provide advice to the Board of the organization as requested or to leaders of the nonprofit sector when such advice seems appropriate.
Ensure the ongoing success by the Advisory Board through an annual review of its performance
Members of the Arctic Slope Community Foundation Advisory Board Commitment
- Participate in person or on the phone with four meetings per year of either the advisory boards, one of its committees or a committee of the board of directors, or as a representative in support of its mission.
- Serve on at least one committee or special project during the year.
- Hold Arctic Slope Community Foundation to a high standard of performance and actively help it maintain its position as a leader of the arctic slope charitable sector.
- Understand the role and responsibilities as member of the advisory board
- Read materials distributed for the advisory board or committees prior to the meeting(s) in order to ensure best use of time at such meetings.
- As for clarification on any matter before making decisions
- Listen to other’s opinions with an open mind and objective perspective in order to work toward decisions and solutions in the best interest of Arctic Slope Community Foundation.
- Respect the confidentiality of the advisory board’s business.
- Attend the annual advisory board meeting
